Job Title: Technical Accounting Expert

Contract Term: 12 Months contract with possibility of extension.

Salary: 800 per day Umbrella
Location: London, SW1A

Hybrid: This position will be expected to come into the office 1 - 2 days a week.

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Accounting Expert with in-depth knowledge and practical experience in IFRS 17 implementation to join the team. You will provide expert guidance, develop financial models, and support the transition to IFRS. The role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, designing and testing new processes and systems, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert IFRS 17 technical accounting advice and prepare technical papers.
• Develop and maintain Excel models for accounting and modelling calculations to identify data gaps and validate system outputs.
• Support the preparation of Transition Accounts and ensure a smooth transition approach, including opening balances and comparative statements.
• Collaborate with auditors to address queries and support audit engagement.
• Assist in the design, implementation, and testing of the FRC-related IT solutions (General Ledger, IFRS 17 Calculation Engine, and Sub-Ledgers).
• Ensure the finance function's testing activities are completed effectively, resolving any issues.
• Help develop and implement Accounting Rules, Chart of Accounts, and ledger postings for IFRS 17 disclosures.
• Analyse and validate data inputs/outputs from financial systems, proposing improvements where necessary.
• Requirements:

• Proven experience in IFRS 17 implementation.
• Strong expertise in Excel modelling for accounting and financial calculations.
• Ability to engage with auditors, finance teams, and external stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with General Ledger and financial reporting systems.
