Our client based close to Bedford is recruiting for an Engineering Buyer to join the Purchasing team. This role will play a big part in driving procurement activity across the business.
You will support the department with the implementation of new strategies, policies and procedures.
Duties will include:
- Supporting the procurement team in the purchasing of all materials
- Requesting quotations
- Leading negotiations
- Leading technical review meetings
- Supporting and working closely with Engineering and Design departments on new projects and new concepts
- Supporting commercial team with cost calculations
- Improving department processes
Experience skills/required:
- Proven purchasing experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment
- Understanding of engineering drawings
- A basic understanding of the manufacturing processes
- Excellent IT skills
- Experience in ERP/MRP systems
- Full clean driving license
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player
Hours of work:
- Monday - Thursday 08.00am - 4.30pm 08.00 - 1pm Friday
