Studio Technical Supervisor

We currently are recruiting for freelance Studio Technical Supervisors for a fast growing and highly successful foreign language news broadcaster based in West London.

As Technical Supervisor you will be the main point of contact for technical studio requirements solving issues as they arise and escalating to other departments when required. You will be working in a busy live news environment operating the studio lighting, camera vision controls and when needed the robotic camera systems, ensuing the highest levels of of studio output at all times. You will also assist with the planning and execution of future operational requirements in the studios, maintaining technical standards and working with the technical support teams to ensure any engineering issues are resolved.

Applicants should have a proven background in studio technical operations with extensive practical knowledge of lighting and vision technologies from a broadcast environment. Working knowledge of lighting desk programming and troubleshooting including updating cues and altering luminaire attributes is important as is experience aligning camera channels.

A creative eye is also important, with the ability to identify any issues on output including correct lighting levels and colour balance.

A basic knowledge of studio electrical theory including single, three phase supplies is highly beneficial as is experience operating Avolites and Cerebrum (audio-visual control systems) and strong knowledge of health and safety with the necessary training to work at height.
