Engineering Manager - Banking Technology

Eames consulting are delighted to be working with an established bank that are on the lookout for an experienced and talented Engineering Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, proven leadership abilities, and a passion for driving technical excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of talented software engineers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure banking solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to define and execute technology strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and test-driven development (TDD).
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of banking applications, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and security standards.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (10 years) in software engineering, with a focus on building scalable and secure banking applications.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve goals.
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and technologies, including but not limited to Java, .NET, Python, SQL, RESTful APIs, and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS, etc.) and security best practices in the banking industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
