Job Requirements/Description

This job posting is for a Technical Safety Engineer position at NES Fircroft, working with a major oil and gas operator based in Norwich, UK. The role is crucial to the QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment) team, ensuring the safety and compliance of operations in the Southern North Sea (SNS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Studies: Conduct and lead various safety studies, including:
  • Total Risk Management
  • HAZID (Hazard Identification)
  • Bowtie Analysis and ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable)
  • Consequence modelling using DNV GL PHAST or FLARESIM software
  • Mini Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) with Event and Fault Tree Analysis
  • Hazardous Area Classification
  • Fire and Explosion Risk Assessments
  • Safety Case Management: Prepare Safety Case Material Changes and conduct 5-year Thorough Reviews.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) regulations and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modelling is desirable.
  • Project Management: Scope, commission, manage, and review technical safety studies from contractors in support of operations and projects.

Contract Details:

  • Duration: Initial 12-month contract, with potential for extension.
  • Location: Norwich Office, UK.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday.
