Home and Field-based covering the London area


the Resourcing Team has partnered with a leading London-based security systems integrator focused on delivering results for customers through unparalleled service excellence.


We are looking for a Technical Sales Designer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a company that excels in commercial security systems including Access Control, Intruder Alarms, and CCTV systems.


The mission of the Technical Sales Designer is to create best-in-class technical designs both commercially to support the sales growth journey, whilst also ensuring a technical level of capability to ensure their execution is as delivered as sold to the client.


The vision for this role is to create the processes, and procedures and implement all necessary tools and systems to enable future growth in the department.



Responsibilities/ Key Accountabilities

  • To provide overall Leadership, innovation & delivery of the design, drawing office, and technical information functional requirements for bids ensuring design and documentation.
  • Outputs are delivered to a ‘best in class’ quality and in line with the required bid or project budget and timescale.
  • To ensure relevant function resource levels are correctly maintained to maximise resource efficiencies and employee utilisation.
  • In line with the Team growth and demand develop an employee talent pool to ensure adequate capacity to increasing demand and the individuals have the required technical and functional competencies to support current and future business activities.
  • To develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • To provide significant input to the evolving Product agnostic roadmap, supporting and contributing to achieving the necessary Manufacturer & other accreditations as required



Skills and Abilities

  • Be the owner & coordinator of successful bid formulations and presentations from the point of opportunity creation by the sales Team.
  • Coordinate with project managers and directors to ensure resources are correctly allocated to design and technical information activities to meet project delivery timescales.
  • Leading the design team to ensure the business maintains a best-in-class engineering design capability, maximising opportunity for value engineering, mixing both innovative and mature solutions to fit client requirements.
  • Lead a culture of continuous improvement through the design and technical information processes implementing effective quantitative and qualitative measurements.
  • Implement process improvements as required to improve process maturity.
  • To ensure all project technical documentation is collated and delivered in accordance with bid & project milestones.
  • Where required manage the company document control function to ensure accurate and efficient processing of internal and external communications.
  • Ensure risks are managed and/or documented through the bid design and project delivery lifecycle.
  • Facilitate project launch meetings to understand scope and ensure correct resource is allocated to projects.



What background and experience is required:

  • Ideally a BSc in an engineering discipline and/or BA in Business Management.
  • Working within an engineering environment (Electrical, Control and Instrumentation).
  • Previous experience with electronic security systems and solutions (Access Control, CCTV, Intruder Alarms etc.)
  • Relevant technical experience with emphasis on design & project delivery
  • Project or technical team management experience
  • Knowledge of PC and Microsoft Office software (must include Microsoft Word, Excel, Project).
  • Full UK driving license.
