We have a fantastic role available for an experienced Technical Account Manager who has worked in carbon management (or a related field) for at least a year, who can support our clients to improve their environmental performance as part of one of the key pillars of our Achilles Carbon Reduce programme. The Achilles Carbon Reduction programme in the UK’s and Europe’s only Accredited Greenhouse Gas Certification Scheme. You will be supporting clients from registration on this programme through to certification.


The role will be hybrid (our offices are in Didcot, Oxfordshire) with an element of travel to meet clients and colleagues.


You will be using your strong customer service skills and be able to demonstrate building and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders. You will also have experience in business development alongside your training and/or experience in project and client management and project budget control, management systems, and/or certification systems. You will have familiarity with sustainability issues for a range of sectors and application of sustainability tools and methods.


With a passion for sustainability, you will be highly organised, effective when working within a team or independently, and have demonstrable problem-solving skills. You will be able to apply professional judgement and decision-making, and excellent English written and oral communication skills.


You will have a tertiary qualification (e.g. Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent in a relevant field, and hold a full UK driving license.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Account Management – managing clients through to achievement and maintenance of programme certification, providing lead technical support, liaising with and addressing technical issues and queries with partners and colleagues through to resolution, and providing technical training. Developing and maintaining registers for UK client GHG requirements, current & pending UK related GHG legislation and client & Auditor technical issues/FAQs.
  • Non-Certification Projects - researching, project and client management and project budget control, assisting in the preparation of proposals for clients seeking to join our certification programmes and preparing external reports to expected quality requirements.
  • Other Technical tasks - providing technical bespoke training and support sessions for clients and other approved organisations, liaising with other technical staff and external expert bodies as required to maintain technical knowledge, undertaking research to assist the Achilles technical team to progress and plan programme improvements as required, and providing technical input to new programme and service developments as required. Review and approval of all technical changes to the GHG programme.
  • Internal subject matter expert - providing training and coaching to internal team members to increase capability in understanding Achilles’ products, processes and services to benefit clients.
