I'm currently working with one of London's leading and most prestigious architectural visualisation agencies working on some of the city's most exciting new architecture projects. They're currently on looking for someone to bring their projects to life through implementation of VR in visualisations.


Position: Senior Interactive Technical Artist

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Technical Brief Development:
  • Create detailed technical briefs for projects.
  • Design efficient pipelines, such as optimizing data ingestion from 3D CAD packages into Unreal Engine.
  • Develop and maintain clear documentation for pipelines, tools, and procedures.
  • Conduct research and benchmarking for proposed project features.
  • Project Execution:
  • Implement technical solutions based on direction from the Project Lead and/or Art Director.
  • Regularly update technical brief documentation as needed.
  • Address performance issues and refine project features.
  • Performance Optimization:
  • Lead performance optimization efforts across projects.
  • Continuously improve personal skills in AEC authoring software to enhance collaboration with external design teams.
  • Technical Project Management:
  • Collaborate with the Production Lead and technical outsource teams to manage the technical aspects of projects.
  • Draft comprehensive technical briefs for outsourced development, ensuring tools and functionality can be reused across projects.
  • Take on the Production Lead role for technically complex projects, including presenting solutions to external stakeholders.
  • Tool and Functionality Development:
  • Develop new tools and features based on client requirements and creative proposals.
  • Lead the design and implementation of gameplay elements, working with external developers to meet specifications.
  • Oversee the creation of tools and functionality related to pipelines, automation, optimization, and in-editor tools.
  • Team Oversight and Productization:
  • Oversee functionality production to support the Digital Transformation (DT) team’s productization efforts.
  • Collaborate with Project Leads and Art Directors to define project architecture and maximize the use of existing functionality.
  • Testing, Deployment, and Support:
  • Manage testing, deployment, and support for projects, both online and on-premises as required.
  • Training and Mentorship:
  • Train and support studio artists by developing technical workflows and artist tools.
  • Lead regular sessions to share best practices, ensuring the team adheres to established procedures and standards.
  • Asset Library Development:
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the studio's asset library, including textures and shaders.
  • Wiki Management:
  • Manage the technical content of the DT wiki, revising and creating guides to align with best practices.
  • Develop comprehensive guides on topics such as shader creation, lighting approaches, asset optimization, AEC model conversions, FX, rigging, and animation.


Salary: £55,000


Please note: this is a hybrid position with 3 days office-based per week and requires right to work in the UK.
