Job Requirements/Description

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to advance your career in a dynamic and growing environment? Perhaps you’re currently working in a consultancy or seeking to transition from an FM provider to a specialized role in Building Services Consultancy. If you're eager to develop both your technical and commercial skills, this opportunity could be perfect for you.

Our client is a well-established and rapidly expanding company that specializes in providing comprehensive operational engineering support, particularly in the later stages of the building lifecycle (RIBA Stage 7). With a diverse portfolio encompassing over fifty buildings, they work closely with a range of clients, including building surveyors, property management firms, and asset owners.

As they continue to grow, they are looking to bring on board a Senior to Principal-level Electrical Engineer to join their expert team. This role is focused on operational engineering and asset management, with a strong emphasis on maintaining and optimizing existing building systems.

The ideal candidate will bring experience and strengths in several key areas:

  • Designing and specifying electrical services installations, with experience ranging from high-end residential to commercial projects, including office fit-outs and plant/asset replacements.
  • Conducting detailed surveys of electrical services installations and preparing a variety of technical reports—whether for entire buildings or individual assets. This may include reports on pre-acquisition, condition assessments, lifecycle analysis, capital expenditure, and plant/asset replacement.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Electrical Services and Fire & Security Systems, along with familiarity with relevant British Standards, and the ability to address design, operational/maintenance, and statutory compliance issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to interact effectively with clients and contractors.
  • Excellent written and report-writing abilities.
  • Experience managing your own workload, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Comfort in working both independently and within a small team, including managing relationships with external consultants.
  • Confidence in representing the company in project and site meetings.
  • Previous experience in a consultancy environment is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office365 (Outlook, Word & Excel).

While the role is primarily office-based in Croydon, there will be opportunities for occasional remote working, as well as regular travel to sites in London and the South. The role also offers the chance to oversee various types of maintenance contracts across a portfolio of properties, with no prior experience in maintenance contracts required.

If you are looking to take the next step in your career within a forward-thinking and client-focused organization, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
