Our partner participates in a variety of projects ranging from designing and building spacecraft to managing launches and controlling satellites in orbit.
They are seeking a Senior Systems Engineering Consultant to join their Defence & Security Division and support UK Defence projects. You will provide Satellite Communications Systems Engineering consultancy across various delivery areas within their government-facing team.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Systems Engineering Consultant:
- Provide Satellite Communications Systems Engineering consultancy across various delivery areas within the government-facing team.
- Ideal for a seasoned systems engineer with expertise in satellite communications.
- Requires firsthand experience with user terminals.
- Involves programme/project management within a defence environment.
Key Skills and Experience required for the Senior Systems Engineering Consultant:
- Currently hold or be eligible to obtain UK SC clearance.
- Degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating similar competence.
- Practical knowledge or experience with systems engineering practices in the space domain, covering requirements engineering, design/development, testing, and service release.
- At least 9 years of experience in Space/SATCOM within Defence, European, or UK Space programs, including:
- Military and Commercial User Terminal Equipment.
- Satellite Ground Station Equipment.
- Verification, Validation, and Testing.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Defence environment, including:
- Requirements definition
- Tender evaluation
- Mentoring and technical development
The Senior Systems Engineering Consultant will also have experience in some / all of the following:
- Experience presenting to both clients and colleagues.
- Experience working on satellite and terrestrial communications projects.
- Firsthand experience with Radiation Safety, RF/IF Engineering, and related RF/IF distribution systems.
- Knowledge of military User Terminals, their deployment and subsequent installation.
- Knowledge of Satellite construction, AIT, delivery, and final system testing.
