The Roles


R&D Tax Technical Consultant (1+ Years' Experience)

As a Technical Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in the development and submission of R&D tax credit claims. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Report Preparation: Draft detailed R&D technical reports, ensuring compliance with the latest HMRC guidelines and the Corporate Intangibles Research and Development Manual.
  • Client Interaction: Engage in technical discussions with clients, accurately documenting eligible R&D activities.
  • Technical Support: Analyse clients’ R&D projects to assess their innovations and determine their eligibility for tax incentives.
  • Process Management: Assist in managing project timelines and ensuring the timely and accurate submission of claims.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Support the preparation of compliance checks and responses to HMRC enquiries, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on legislative changes in R&D tax incentives and integrate this knowledge into your work.
  • R&D Tax Manager (4+ Years' Experience)

    In the Manager role, you will take on additional responsibilities, including:

    • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of technical consultants, overseeing their work and providing guidance on complex R&D tax credit claims.
    • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact for R&D tax matters.
    • Strategic Oversight: Take ownership of larger, more complex projects, ensuring high standards of service delivery and client satisfaction.
    • Business Development: Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the R&D tax advisory service.
    • Regulatory Expertise: Provide expert advice on R&D tax legislation, staying ahead of changes and ensuring your team is informed and compliant.


    Qualifications and Skills


    For both roles, our client is seeking professionals who possess:

    • Relevant Degree: A degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, Engineering, or Construction for the Technical Consultant role. For the Manager role, a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology-related field is required.
    • Experience:
    • Technical Consultant: 1+ years of experience in R&D tax consulting.
    • Manager: 4+ years of experience, with a proven track record in managing R&D tax credit claims and leading teams.
    • Communication Skills: Strong ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively to a range of stakeholders.
    • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
    • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
