Job Title: Engineering Manager – Joint Design Authority Programme Assurance

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the Dreadnought Alliance Tier 1 (SDA/Customer) Engineering Assurance; providing Engineering evidence and producing an Annual Engineering Assurance report
  • Developing the Engineering Management Plan and the Engineering Assurance Management Plan for the Dreadnought Joint Design Authority (JDA)
  • Management and oversight of the JDA Technical Governance
  • Provide assurance that the developing Technical Risk Management arrangements within the Dreadnought Alliance reflect the current and future levels of technical risk within the programme

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Background in programme level engineering assurance
  • Experience with governance and oversight of engineering programmes
  • Degree qualified in engineering or STEM, or equivalent experience

Desirable:

  • Maritime engineering experience or equivalent
  • Experience working on complex programmes
  • Experience in risk management

The Joint Design Authority team:

The Dreadnought Alliance is a collaboration between Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems (BAES) and the Ministry of Defence to deliver the ‘Dreadnought Class SSBN’ programme. The scope of the Dreadnought Programme is the delivery of four SSBNs to the Royal Navy to maintain Continuous at Sea Deterrence (CASD).

The Engineering Manager is responsible for technical assurance across the Dreadnought programme. The role rationalises technical assurance activity across the Enterprise parties and will give you visibility at a senior level across the Enterprise.
