About the Company
Our partner is a seed-stage fintech disrupting the credit referencing industry. Their mission is to transform the credit referencing landscape by modernising how consumer credit information is reported and shared between lenders. As they continue to grow and scale their business, they are seeking a talented Technical Product Manager to drive their product development efforts and contribute to their mission.
About the Role:
You will play a key role in designing and delivering credit information API products for our B2B fintech partners. As the first product owner in the business, you will have the opportunity for broad impact, contributing to every aspect of our AWS-hosted API platform. You will need to think API-first, care deeply about delivery, and have a passion for improving consumer credit outcomes.
NOTE: This is a product owner role running the backlog and driving the delivery for APIs with the dev team, NOT a product manager role driving vision and business case. You need to have direct API design and delivery experience. OpenAPI and REST should be second nature, and you should know the Postman.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the development team to define, refine, and deliver API product features
- Collaborate directly with the CTO and engineering team on technical architecture decisions and implementation approaches
- Own the agile processes and product backlog, maintaining and prioritising it to align with business objectives and technical and resource constraints
- Translate ambiguous and early-stage requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
- Assist in API documentation and developer experience improvements
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience as a technical product owner or similar role in an API platform company, preferably in fintech or B2B SaaS
- Proficiency in agile methodologies, modern software project management, and continuous delivery tools e.g. Jira, GitHub, CI/CD
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies
- Experience with API developer portals and tools, and developer-first thinking e.g. Open API, Postman
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Regulated fintech and early-stage start-up experience is a plus
