About the role  

We are delighted to share that we have an excellent opportunity for a time served Electrical Engineer to join us within our Shieldhall site.  

  • Shieldhall packages a huge volume of Scotch malt whiskies, white spirits and ready to drink brands to supply over 170 countries around the world and is a key manufacturing site within the Scotch supply category.  
  • As an Electrical Engineer within our Packaging Team at Shieldhall, you will play a pivotal role in the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all assets across our site.  
  • You will be accountable for the delivery of efficient and effective maintenance, repair, problem solving and improvement of assets and their availability. Additionally, expected to train and mentor others within the team on electrical systems and safe ways of working.  
  • This role involves working closely with operations teams, CAPEX, and other maintenance groups to maximise efficiency of operations to drive performance and improvement. You will engage with operations teams and maintenance personnel to deliver, review, and ensure that all requested maintenance is effectively delivered with minimum impact on production, ensuring the correct spare parts are available to carry out the maintenance tasks, in accordance with a weekly/daily asset care delivery plan.  
  • You will utilise our Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP-PM) to raise, update, and record all maintenance tasks in accordance with a weekly asset care delivery plan.  
  • Health and safety compliance is key, and you will be at the forefront of making sure this is supervised alongside ensuring both site and personal KPI’s are achieved.  

To be successful in this role, we’re looking for: 

  • Time served with a recognised SVQ Qualification, hands-on apprenticeship or equivalent. 
  • Proven experience in a production environment and able to demonstrate understanding of asset performance and maintenance.  
  • Experience in data analysis, use of applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and business systems such as SAP, desirable  
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk principles.  
  • Can work well within a team as well as the ability to make effective decisions and thrive in situations where they can solve problems.  
  • Holds strong interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to communicate with all levels across the site.  
  • Able to push forward your own ideas about improvements to current approaches and appraise new opportunities. With a strive to make a positive difference to manufacturing excellence and show your excellent communication skills.
