Lead Engineering Project Manager

Shrewsbury / Hybrid working (minimum of 3 days on-site per week)

Initial 12 month contract likely to be extended

37.5hours a week - Start and finish times might be flexible

Competitive PAYE and Umbrella rates available

This is an excellent opportunity to lead global Product Engineering Teams. It is a key position working on Components, Engines, Transmissions and Powerpacks products offering realistic career growth where you will be working with multi-functional teams across the clients Enterprise.

You will be expected to manage the whole process of the projects including project scope, cost, and execution of the defined project scope, and where applicable, planning and managing the resources required for successful project execution.

What will you do as Lead Engineering Project Manager?

  • Involved in end to end projects, looking at requests for quotes and statements of work, coming up with the profile for the job, planning it out in the first instance.
  • A lot of exposure to different parts of the business, linking in with facility manufacturing, purchasing and supply chain.
  • Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems
  • Directing project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members, very high collaboration work.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • Ideally a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science
  • Experiencing using Microsoft Office including MS Project and Office 365 systems
  • Strong project management background
  • Understanding of powerpack systems, engine systems, in a technical background before, any validation work, would help enable them to ask the right questions and be effective to get the most out of the teams.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of product and service appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics
  • Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyse and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
  • Ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
