As part of the Asset Management function within SSEN Distribution you will lead and manage a team of professional Asset Standards Engineers to develop specifications and standards to optimise the procurement, installation, inspection, maintenance, operation, replacement and decommissioning of our SSEN assets.

  • Lead, engage, develop and manage the team in accordance with the SSE Leadership Blueprint. Give clear direction to the team and engage them in building a proud team developing and owning the delivery of plans to get to the desired state.
  • Provide Technical Authority from the team to lead and report on asset failure/defect investigations.
  • The successful candidate is required to develop thinking to improve resilience in our teams and ensure that competent engineers with the appropriate qualifications and experience are employed.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • Proven ability to lead a team of technical staff.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and engagement skills
  • Ability to deliver within challenging timescales, the ability to effectively prioritise, plan and organise, balance immediate and longer term business priorities.
  • Change management experience relating to implementing new specifications and standards.
