Quality Assurance Manager

The Role – Quality Assurance Manager (Magnesium)

Reporting to the Director of Customer First and Quality Compliance, you will be maintaining the standardisation and simplification of the Quality Management Systems across the company, providing quality assurance support and direction to all areas of the business. Your duties will include:

  • Managing the QMS systems assigned through the development and reviewing of quality assurance documentation
  • Establishing and maintaining efficient processes and procedures through the QMS
  • Inputting into the Quality Assurance and Compliance Scorecard and implementing any CAPA to meet agreed departmental KPIs
  • Controlling the preparation and management of third party and certified body audits and developing CAPA plans for rapid and effective closure
  • Carrying out internal and external supplier audits and sub contracted processes for raw materials and semi-finished or machined parts
  • Incorporating compliance into processes in consultation with the Compliance team
  • Liaising with Quality Managers and coordinate Quality Champions and other third parties over quality related issues
  • Working with the Management team to support continuous improvement throughout the company
  • Preparing and delivering regular internal training and updates to the business on quality assurance initiatives and activities

Occasional international travel will be required for internal and supplier audits, and for integration of processes in the USA company facilities.

The Package

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you’ll be working at our site in Swinton (Greater Manchester) and will benefit from:

  • Permanent contract, working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
  • Salary in the region of £50,000 to £60,000 with level dependent on experience

Our Requirements – Quality Assurance Manager

  • Experience working in a Quality Management role in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in BS EN 9100 RevD
  • Degree in Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, or related Science subject
  • Experience of using analytical tools required for development of new products and processes, gauge R&R studies
  • Lead auditor trained
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance tools related to CAPA methodology
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel or Power Bi
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with great attention to detail
  • High level of organisational, data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to occasionally travel internationally
