Engineering Stores Person / Stock Controller

Jones Coach and Bus Sales (JCBS) is a retailer of coaches and buses which has recently been awarded dealership status for Noone of Ireland, selling and supporting the Turas and Rosero Connect range of luxury mini and midi coaches, a well-established premium product in the UK with the widest range of models in the industry.

JCBS is part of Llew Jones Limited, an ambitious family run company based in Llanrwst, North Wales, which is celebrating 50 years in business, operating a fleet of coaches and buses for local bus services, school transport, UK and European Tours and a daily National Express route.

With a reputation for innovation and quality, unprecedented growth in the sector, and with new models officially launching later this year, JCBS have an exciting opportunity to join the growing team as an Engineering Stores Person / Stock Controller.

The Role – Engineering Stores Person / Stock Controller

As a Stores Person / Stock Controller for JCBS, you will be responsible for managing all stock, checking availability and ordering parts as requested by the Engineering team, at the most competitive price. You will also be managing the service and inspection schedule for all sales vehicles utilising the industry approved Vehicle Management System (VMS – training provided if required).

Your duties will include, although not be limited to:

• Managing availability of parts, ordering parts in line with agreed stock levels
• Ordering non-stock parts from suppliers having compared prices for best value
• Inputting stock on the Vehicle Management System (VMS), and allocating stock used to appropriate vehicle
• Undertaking physical stock take on a monthly basis and highlighting any anomalies to Workshop Manager
• Advertising surplus parts for sale
• Planning for servicing and inspections with the Workshop Manager and ensuring all parts ordered but not fitted on last inspection, are provided to the Fitter
• Matching delivery notes against order form and highlighting any discrepancies in quantity or cost with supplier
• Matching invoices to delivery notes and order forms and highlighting any discrepancies
• Ensuring each delivery note is signed by the Workshop Manager and passed to Accounts for payment

Our Requirements – Engineering Stores Person / Stock Controller

• Proven experience within a stores role, managing inventory and undertaking stock checks
• Excellent organisational skills
• IT literacy (training will be provided on industry software - VMS)
• A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with the ability to work independently
• A good eye for detail in order to spot discrepancies with prices and invoices
• A willingness to input your ideas to benefit the development of the new JCBS team

Although not essential, experience working within the engineering / mechanical / automotive sector would be highly advantageous.

The Package

As an Engineering Stores Person / Stock Controller, you'll be part of a growing reputable business in a role where your efforts will be noticed and rewarded, and you will benefit from:

• Bonus linked to sale of surplus parts (to be agreed at interview)
• Permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm (alternative start and finish times may be possible)
