New Product Introduction Chemist
Luxfer MEL Technologies is a global leader in the development, manufacture and supply of magnesium and zirconium based products and services to industries worldwide. Our high-value solutions help to improve people’s lives, keep them safer, and make their work more productive.
Zirconium chemicals are produced at our Swinton site from a range of raw materials and our lightweight magnesium alloys are machined or extruded to custom shapes and specifications to meet customer requirements. Our products are used in a variety of sectors including high performance, safety critical aerospace, defence, healthcare, oil and gas and Formula 1.
We are a forward-thinking business with approximately 300 employees across the UK and US, and you’ll be joining our head office based in Swinton, Greater Manchester.
The Package
The Role – NPI Chemist
Reporting to the Technical Lead of the New Product Introduction team, as the NPI Chemist you will support the development of new products to secure new business opportunities, as well as new processes which are safe, reliable and cost effective via the New Product Development process.
You will be part of the wider dynamic Zirconium R&D team that aims to facilitate continuous growth of our technology and product portfolio as well as providing outstanding customer support and services, therefore previous relevant industrial experience is essential.
Specific duties will include:
The New Product Introduction team support activities across both our UK and US manufacturing facilities, therefore some international travel may be required.
