Senior Buyer / Purchasing Manager

A brilliant opportunity to join a global leader specialising in the design, development and manufacture of large precision machines and equipment. The company’s state of the art fully automated high-speed machines are designed, manufactured, built, and tested in Wrexham before being exported all over the world. As well as an established product portfolio, the company is pursuing multiple cutting-edge R&D projects.

The Role – Senior Buyer / Purchasing Manager

Reporting to the Managing Director, as the Senior Buyer you will control the purchasing of all materials, components, products, and external services. Your duties will include:

• Reviewing daily MRP suggestions and assessing suppliers, including lead time and pricing and raising purchase orders as appropriate
• Ensuring order acknowledgement and delivery is in line with orders through systematic expediting
• Managing the procurement of other commodities, utilities, and industrial services
• Liaising with suppliers to resolve issues with performance and regularly reviewing / suggesting and developing improvements
• Establishing new and more competitive sources of supply, planning cost-down performance targets
• Organising and managing the day-to-day activities of a small team
• Working closely with other members of the senior operational team providing reports and attending meetings

The Requirements – Senior Buyer / Purchasing Manager

• Solid experience gained in a Procurement / Buyer / Purchasing role, with experience procuring a range of engineering materials and / or components
• Excellent knowledge of ERP / MRP systems
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Proactive, can-do team player used to achieving tight deadlines
• Organised approach, with excellent time management skills

The Package

As a Senior Buyer, you’ll benefit from:

• A salary in the region of £35,000 with the level dependent on experience
• Private pension and healthcare cover after one years’ service
• Based at the site on the Wrexham Industrial Estate (North Wales)
• Permanent contract with full time hours, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm
