Field Maintenance Technician / Service Technician ­– supporting colleagues in Milton Keynes and travelling to customer sites across the UK and Ireland. Working sociable hours.

The Role – Maintenance Technician

Working closely with another Maintenance Technician, you will undertake repair work and provide technical support for our in-house service department and to customers out in the field within the UK and Ireland. This will primarily be on turbopumps, leak detectors and other vacuum devices although training will be provided. Specific duties will include:

  • Answering all technical queries relating to the product range from both customers and internal colleagues
  • Providing function checks and service / guarantee repairs
  • Preparing and submitting service assessment and reports using our software for in-house repairs and when visiting customer sites
  • Communicating with customers via telephone, video calls and email
  • Providing remote virtual support via Microsoft HoloLens systems (training provided)
  • Promoting and selling the product range and service offers / contracts
  • Liaising with the factory service department

The Package

Working from our modern office in Newport Pagnell (Milton Keynes) and at customer sites across the UK and Ireland, you will benefit from:

  • Permanent contract, working full time hours Monday to Thursday 8:45am to 5pm, and 8:45am to 4:30pm on Friday

Our Requirements – Maintenance Technician

  • Either be qualified through experience gained working with either electrical and / or mechanical systems or have a relevant ONC / HNC in a similar subject
  • Full UK driving licence, willingness to travel to customer sites
  • Enthusiasm to succeed, with a desire to learn
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Proactive approach and ability to work on own initiative
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail
  • Good computer skills

Although not essential, experience gained working with vacuum technology systems would be highly advantageous, although full training will be provided.
